Our Mission
The Tejido is a not-for-profit organization based in Tulum, Mexico, dedicated to protecting and rescuing stray and abandoned dogs.
Tulum, Mexico, once a small jungle town, is now a developing vacation destination visited by over 2 million people annually.
Unfortunately, with development at an all-time high, the population of stray and abandoned dogs has risen, numbering in the thousands.
Our mission is to get to the route of the problem through spay/neuter and vaccination programs while also tending to the immediate needs of sick and injured dogs.
Since 2021, we have spayed/neutered over 3,000 dogs and adopted nearly 400 dogs to forever-loving homes in Mexico, Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
Through the power of education, community, and our spay/neuter programs, our goal is to create a model that can be replicated in other parts of the world where there is an overpopulation of stray and abandoned dogs.
We are committed to the pursuit of a better quality of life for both dogs and people in our community.
